Guard Jack Taylor of Division III Grinnell College scored 138 points Tuesday in a 179-104 win over Faith Baptist Bible College. Taylor set an NCAA single-game record with his 138 points, eclipsing the 113 scored by Bevo Francis (Division II) in 1954.

Duke Defeats Kentucky In Atlanta

No. 9 Duke defeated the defending champion and third ranked Kentucky Wildcats, 75-68. Blue Devils guard Seth Curry scored 23 points.

Raptors Guard Scores First Career Triple-Double

Toronto Raptors point guard Jose Calderon recorded his first career triple-double Tuesday night in a win versus the Indiana Pacers. Calderon scored 13 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and dished out 10 assists.

Kings Give Keith Smart Contract Extension

The Sacromento Kings have signed head coach Keith Smart to a 1-year contract extension that will run through the 2013-2014 season. The Kings went 20-39 under Smart last season which was shorten due to the player lockout.

United States women’s basketball team routed China 114-63, Sunday. The Americans will next play Canada in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

U.S. Men’s Basketball Team Just Gets Pass Lithuania

The USA men’s basketball team defeated Lithuania, 99-94 Saturday. The USA trailed 84-82 with 5:50 left in the 4th quarter.

LeBron James scored 9 of his 20 points during a 17-6 run in the 4th. Toronto Raptors forward Linas Kleiza led Lithuania with 25 points.

United States Women 4-0 In Olympic Basketball Play

The United State’s women’s basketball team improved to 4-0 in group play by defeating the Czech Republic, 88-61. Diana Taurasi scored 18 points for the Americans.

U.S. Men’s Basketball Team Stays Unbeaten, Sets Record

The USA men’s basketball team set an Olympic record for the most points scored in a game in their 156-73 win over Nigeria.

Carmelo Anthony set a U.S. record for the most points in Olympic game with 37. He went 13-16 in field goals and 10-12 from three-point range.
