Norfolk Admirals Win Calder Cup

The Norfolk Admirals the affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning won their first Calder Cup title Saturday afternoon, completing a sweep of the Toronto Marlies (Toronto Maplme Leafs) in the American Hockey League finals. The Admirals won the game 6-1.

AHL Team Wins 19th Straight Game

The Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League won their 19th game in a row. The Admirals beat Albany 2-1. The Admirals are an affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Minnesota Wild Hires Yeo As Head Coach

The Minnesota Star Tribune reports the Minnesota Wild has hired Mike Yeo as their new head coach. Yeo was coach of the American Hockey League’s Houston Aeros.

Islanders Dismiss Head Coach

The New York Islanders have fired head coach Scott Gordon. The team’s AHL affiliate’s head coach Jack Capuano will serve as the team’s interim coach. The team has a current record of 4-10.
